The El Pastor family is a small group of Mexican restaurants in London, inspired by the decade the founders spent in Mexico City, running cult nightclub, El Colmillo and searching for the city’s best al pastor taco. The restaurants are committed to using the best, sustainable ingredients and making tortillas in-house, daily from Mexican heritage corn. El Pastor is deeply invested in sourcing the most wonderful mezcals and tequilas and making every day a fiesta.

Ingredients:
25ml El Jimador Reposado
10ml Ayuuk
20ml Ancho Reyes
7ml Agave syrup
20ml Lime juice
5ml Jalapeño brine
Tajín
You can pick up both chilli liqueurs (Ayuuk and Ancho Reyes) from good specialist drinks shops such as @whiskyexchange
To make:
Run a lime wedge around the rim of a coupe cocktail glass and dip in Tajín.
Add the ingredients to a cocktail shaker with plenty of ice. Shake, strain, pour and enjoy.

NEW on the specials: beetroot aguachile 🌶️
Jicama meets a trio of beetroot (red, golden and candy) before being dressed with a chilli-cider vinegar, topped with vegan feta and served with a couple of tostadas.

Cinco de Mayo, celebrated by Mexicans around the world on May 5th, commemorates the anniversary of Mexico’s victory over the French expeditionary force at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. The date has become synonymous with the celebration of Mexican culture and of victory over aggressors.
Marking the occasion this Sunday, all-female six piece mariachi band @mariachilasadelitas will be popping up for four mighty performances at each of the Pastors.

EP’s ‘Grow On’ Avocado Seedling Project. 🥑🌱
For the past year, we’ve been continuing the lifecycle of our avocados by germinating the surplus stones onsite at EP Stoney Street and giving away the seedlings to guests, for free.
From Friday, at EP Battersea you’ll be able to choose a seedling to take home with a card that links to information on how to care for your plant. Either plant your seed in a pot or buy a glass ILEX @avocado_vase like the ones on display directly from us.
As ever, we’d love to see your seedlings growing on at home, so tag us in your plant pictures.

We toss lime-marinated Cornish mussels with cucumber, tomato, jalapeños, spring onion, coriander and salsa macha, top with sliced avocado and serve with corn tostadas.

Taken from the Spanish word, ‘parrilla’, meaning grill, our two restaurants, Coal Drops Yard in King’s Cross, and Borough Yards in London Bridge, celebrate Spanish cooking over fire.
The Drop is a relaxed wine bar nestled in the Victorian stone arches of Coal Drops Yard, King’s Cross.
