at Harts Group
Not just celebrating but supporting women at Harts Group.
We are proud to have extremely capable women across various departments and at all levels of Harts Group. Their aptitude makes a tangible difference to our guests’ experience and the company’s bottom line, and we recognise and value their fundamental contribution.
So, for International Women’s Day, we wanted to outline what Harts Group is doing to support our women, acknowledging gender inequity in the industry and our company, and some of the steps we have taken and are taking to address this. Thereby removing barriers to entry and progression and attracting and retaining the best talent.

In 2023 we introduced enhanced maternity (and paternity) pay, offering new mothers three months full pay, including Tronc.

In 2024 we welcomed Sofia Gassne to deliver Gender Equality workshops for leadership teams, managers and head and sous chefs.

For 2025, Gender Equality e-learning resources are being developed, which will form part of mandatory compliance for all team members.

We have improved the signposting of our HR policies and processes by clearly outlining, in both English and Spanish, the harassment reporting procedure, as well as definitions of acceptable and unacceptable behaviours in our staff handbook and on team noticeboards.

We have created a bilingual electronic confidential reporting form for any incidences of sexual harassment.

As part of our B-Corp application, we have engaged Seismic consultants to assess and improve our equitable hiring practices, workplace diversity, equal pay, and support for women in leadership roles
We want to thank all of our brilliant women, who excel at their jobs whilst facing structural inequities we are committed to removing.
